As the nation celebrates Linggo ng Musikang Pilipino 2026, the Filipino Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (FILSCAP) is putting the spotlight where it matters most—on the songwriters shaping the future of Original Pilipino Music (OPM).
On July 31, 2026, FILSCAP will stage Songwriter’s Night Select 2026 at the Music Museum in Greenhills, San Juan, gathering 15 exceptional emerging songwriters from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao for a one-night concert that celebrates the country’s newest generation of music creators.
Representing diverse musical backgrounds, cultures, and creative voices, these selected songwriters will perform their original compositions before a live audience, offering a glimpse into the future of Filipino music. More than a concert, Songwriter’s Night Select is a platform that recognizes songwriting as both an art and a craft—placing the creators behind the music at the center of the celebration.
The evening will also feature a special guest performance by acclaimed Filipino singer-songwriter Angela Ken, whose journey from emerging artist to one of today’s most recognized OPM performers reflects the possibilities that await the next generation of Filipino songwriters.
