A shared passion for crochet turned into a heartfelt outreach on February 19 as members of Crochet Lovers in the Philippines (CLP) visited the Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC). Bearing essential medical supplies and thoughtfully handcrafted plush toys, the group brought moments of light and comfort to young patients currently undergoing treatment.
Every handmade plushie symbolized more than creativity—it represented care, solidarity, and gentle encouragement for children bravely facing health challenges. In hospital rooms where strength is tested daily, even the smallest gesture can offer a sense of warmth and emotional support.
Yet CLP’s visit was not solely about giving—it was about growing together. Through Hues of Hope, PCMC executives headed by Executive Director Dr. Cecilia O. Gan and CLP members discussed to provide crochet training sessions for patients’ parents. The planned collaboration aims to provide families with a valuable skill they can turn into an additional source of income, empowering them during financially and emotionally demanding times.
By combining compassion with purpose, CLP continues to expand its mission—bringing comfort to children while exploring sustainable opportunities for their families.
The initiative was made possible through the support of PCMC’s doctors, nurses, and staff, whose commitment to healing continues to inspire the community.
